I agree that I wouldn't give an arm and a leg for him but if the price is reasonable he could be a nice addition. |

Backes is a great player. When you say " Rough & Tumble" I'm sure what you mean is grit? Could you imagine Lance "Laying the" Bouma, Backes, McGratten, Bollig, & Engelland?! I smell the cup... the cup filled with blood! |

Depending on the price I'd also be more inclined to add a player like Backes than Kessel |

Depends on the price...he certainly won't hurt the Flames, or any other team for that matter. |

No doubt, but I'm guessing the price will be higher than his actual value so I'd pass. |

if 'cups full of blood' is what you're after, lucic has a reputation for handing those out. |

Yep....these kinds of players typically are beneficial to most teams, but what does it coat you....is the net gain worth it?
All these rumors about Lucic and now Backes .... I'm curious what the asking price is |

St Louis is going to need cap savings. I'm guessing it would cost Backlund + |

Rather keep Backlund, he'll be a damn good 3LC long-term. Strong two-way game, good hockey sense and skating. Can provide a little secondary scoring too.
To get better, the fat needs to be cut. Bollig, Raymond, Engelland, etc.
I'd sell high on Wideman as well and replace him short-term with a guy like Beauchemin or Michalek. Would love to somehow ditch Engelland and sign Jackman, he's basically what we were hoping for with Engelland. |

What would be a legit offer/return for Malkin?
Bennett +? |

There would be no better add then Lucic. His name is only whispered the NHL back alleys due to how feared he is. A once in a generation player that no player can stop. Milan Lucic is a spartan of the nhl, destroying the peasants. Hail Lucic! |

I think the Flames should go after Matt Beleskey. He's young, plays good two-way hockey, and should come relatively cheap. And he was one of those guys that frustrated the Flames in that Ducks series. |

Backes would be great for you guys if were 31 2 yrs from now. Not worth the cost of futures at this point. Million times better player than Lucic. |

hes going to make bank this year. Matt Moulson makes 5m after putting up a 42pts campaign.
Matt Beleskey's agent is going to be probably be using that as a measuring stick. He will get 4-5m now from a dumb GM, guy has only hit 30pts once in his career.
Stay away from that guy, |

I agree, his sh% was way too high. Unless he really just improved his shot I'd stay away.
I do think he's a really solid player, but whatever team that signs him will be buying high. His career shooting percentage is 9.9% and he shot 15.2% this season. So had he he shot his normal career average, he would have had 14 goals in 65 games. |

I actually think he's just a really improved player. Wouldn't mind seeing the Flames offer him a contract. - Nucker101
not for probably the 4m he is going to get. I dont like that gamble, hes another Parenteau waiting to happen |

Yeah, I just checked his sh% and totally edited my post. But his scoring chance numbers have always been solid. |
